Gift of Hearing

Here’s to sharing happiness in the new year …

In a year that’s been filled with adversity, including natural disasters, financial pressure, and a pandemic; it’s more important than ever to lend a hand to those in our community, especially those most impacted by this year’s challenges.

We are partnering with the “ReSound Gives Sound” program to help deliver up to $1 million dollars worth of <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="http://<!– wp:paragraph –> <p>We are partnering with the “<a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="" target="_blank">ReSound Gives Sound</a>” program to help deliver up to $1 million dollars worth of ReSound ONE™ <link to: <a href=""></a>> hearing aids nationally to those most in need.</p> ReSound ONE™ hearing aids nationally to those most in need.

“This year has been filled with many challenges. We want to lend a hand to those in our community who are struggling with hearing loss.  Between masks blocking visual cues and changing modes of communication, the pandemic has had a huge impact on how we connect to one another,” says Dr. Cristobal.

Our practice is asking our community to step up and nominate individuals who have experienced hardship in 2020 and could really benefit from having the latest hearing aid technology.

If you know someone who could benefit, please call our clinic at 919-489-0995. We can accept your nominations over the phone or by dropping in to complete a nomination form.  Nominations are due no later than January 15, 2021.

We will be notifying recipients selected from the national drawing at the end of January.  A second drawing from our local pool of nominees will be held on You Tube live February 15th.

Thank you for helping us this year to give the Gift of Hearing!

Can I nominate myself?

Yes!  Send us your story of why your 2020 has been a challenge, and we will gladly add you to our nominations pool!

How do you win?

We can accept your nominations over the phone or by dropping in to complete a nomination form.  Nominations are due no later than January 15, 2021.

Our office will draw two nominees to be submitted to the national drawing at Resound Headquarters.  Those winners will be notified no later than February 1.

Additionally, our office will be drawing one additional winner from the remaining nominees on February 15th.  This means at least one individual locally is guaranteed to win a new pair of hearing aids and the accompanying Audiological care.

What does the winner get?

The winner(s) will receive two Resound ONE hearing aids, and the cost of all transition services.  This includes best practices of Real Ear Measures, orientation to the devices, two follow up visits, and any communication coaching that may be helpful!  (This care is valued at over $500!)

We know that hearing aids without the proper audiological care are not very helpful.  Best benefit from hearing aids comes from having them properly set up, using Real Ear Measures, and ongoing care to keep them working at their best. We want to make sure that our winners are able to hear their best and show the world how professionally fit hearing aids really work!

These Resound ONE devices are not your grandmother’s hearing aids!  They are able to act as wireless headphones for most Smart phones, pair to an app for added user controls or remote programming by the professional.  There is a find my hearing aid function, and so much more! The devices use a lithium ion battery (rechargeable, like your smartphone) that lasts for 30 hours on a full charge, or up to a week with the reserve charger!

Are there any hidden costs? What’s the catch?

No catch, no up-front costs.  After the first year, care and maintenance services for the devices will be your own responsibility.  If you choose to pursue an ongoing care plan with our office, Our highest level of care plan costs $499 annually. Care plans are not required, and services can be provided on a fee for service as needed basis.

(We are not looking to make money on this program!  We want to start off 2021 feeling great about our work and our community!)

Do the hearing aids come with a warranty?

The hearing aids include a one year warranty provided by the manufacturer, Resound.  This covers repairs and parts (with no deductible or cost), as well as one loss and damage replacement (with a deductible) within the first year.  Our office will include the fitting, orientation, and verification fees, as well as one year of our Worry Free care plan. Both warranties can be extended annually.

Are follow up visits included?

The fitting visit and two follow ups are included. We will also be providing a one year subscription to our HHCS “Worry Free” Care plan, meaning anything you need specific to the care of the hearing aids is covered – no worries.  Cleaning, repairs, programming in person or remotely, even loaner hearing aids if yours are out of commission for any reason!

Do I have to sign a contract?

No contract is required! The hearing aids have no upfront cost to you.  Maintenance and long-term management of the devices is recommended to get the most out of your devices.  Care plans are available but optional.  We can help you understand what to expect in terms of maintenance costs and plans during the fitting process.

What is required of the winner?

We do ask for written permission for use of the winner(s)’ name and image in our marketing.  We will request but not require written or video comments on the experience and benefits of hearing care.

Can I trade out the hearing aids for cash value?

No, this program does not have the ability to award any cash prize.

How many people can win?

There will be at least one or as many as three local individuals to receive a free pair of hearing aids as well as the audiological services associated with their set up!

Our office will be able to select two individuals to submit to the national drawing where Resound Gives Sound is giving away one million dollars’ worth of hearing aids nationally. The winners of this drawing will be notified by February 1, 2021.  If not chosen, these individuals will be added back into our local pool of nominees, and one individual will be chosen to receive a pair of hearing aids from our office.

What is the timeline?

Nominations must be submitted to the practice location no later than January 15, 2021. ReSound will select national recipients the week of January 25, 2021, and they will be donating up to $1 million worth of hearing aids (based on customary retail price). Selected recipients will be notified by the practice location the week of February 1, 2021 and will be fitted with hearing aids no later than March 15, 2021. The practice agrees to waive any initial fitting and follow-up fees for recipients.  Following the national drawing, a second local drawing will be held among local nominations received by Hearing Health Care Services on February 15.

Can someone win who is not local?

Because hearing care best practices require some face-to-face contact to deliver care, we do require that the winner(s) be available for three in person visits between February 15-March 31.

How do I nominate someone?
By email, phone, or postcard, submit your name, phone number and email, as well as the name, phone number and email of your nominee.  We would love to know a bit more about why they are being nominated. Our phones are on from 8:30-4:30 weekdays.

Do nominees who don’t win get anything?

Nominees will be provided with a certificate acknowledging their participation.  Nominating a loved one could make for a great Christmas present!
