Maintaining connections with family and loved ones, and supporting dignity late in life are driving motivations for us, and really are the why behind our hearing care. 

Each season of life carries with it different goals and priorities for hearing care management. Hospice and end-of-life care present a unique set of goals for us to help an individual stay connected. Quality time spent with family and loved ones feels even more valuable when we are helping someone in their final stages of life.

Our comprehensive approach means that we want to meet our patients goals where they are. When an individual is on hospice, we are no longer prioritizing large social engagements or long term cognitive maintenance. We also try to provide as much of that care as possible without requiring office visits. Often a family member can retrieve assistive devices from the office and have our staff offer them an orientation to the technology so that the family member can take care of equipment without adding something for the patient to learn.

We will gladly offer support to anyone on hospice who is having trouble hearing. We want you to be able to participate in your care decisions as much as is reasonable and spend quality time with your family. For those who have not been seen by us, We offer rentals of assistive devices that are highly adoptable but do not have custom programming. 

Folks who have previously been under our care have likely given us enough information to offer more customized sound management. Using previous hearing aid settings we can make adjustments to previous technology or all for short term rentals of loaner hearing aids if needed.

We are happy to offer home visits if needed however we try to minimize the impact and distraction of hearing interventions by sending equipment and instructions with a family member or caregiver.
